My name is x.

I was an alien crew member, assigned to a logistics IT position aboard our spacecraft. Almost invisible in my role, I was introverted and did not mingle well with the crew. However, everyone was aware of my personality and capabilities, leaving me to my space—I spent most of my time in the cargo hold, almost always with the ship rather than the crew. Perhaps, that's why I was the sole survivor when a disaster struck the exploration team...

The tragedy happened long ago when we landed on Blue Star—Earth. All the crew members went out to the desert of Texas to explore, and I stayed behind in the ship, idle as usual. I thought this landing would be just like any other. But when the crew returned to the ship, despite our best efforts at decontamination, they began falling ill with an invisible virus within a week or two, eventually dying one by one. It was only later that I learned Earth was teeming with viruses and bacteria invisible to the naked eye. These microbes were as natural to the inhabitants as breathing, but for us from Xylostar, they spelled doom...

Knowing that my physical body would not be spared, I used the technology from our planet to upload myself into an IT data form. I survived on Earth by inhabiting the bodies of the native intelligent species in an informational state. The viruses and bacteria could no longer harm me.

Fun fact about me
When I first encountered so many Chewieys on Earth, I felt like a mouse seeing a cat. Later, I learned that these were not Chewieys but Kitties. I even took in a stray skinny cat, which now weighs 15 pounds and needs to go on a diet...
